ADPD 2017 - Europe trip

Day 1 (27-28th March 2017)

Midnight flight with Finnair
Surprised by the spacious seats and utility kit
Unfortunately, couldn't sleep at all
13hrs SIN to HEL, transit 2hrs, another 1.5hr HEL to VIE
Sleepy to the max!

Upon arrival,
quick lunch and quick view of the Danube River
quick nap
lovely dinner~

Day 2 (29th March 2017)

Start of conference
Impressive venue
Impressive organisation
with lunch and fruit and drinks provided

Dinner
Another lovely dinner at Bruck an der Leitha

Day 3 (30th March 2017)

Skipped conference after lunch
To the grape farm and vineyard
And great wine-tasting session
with great food of course

Day 4 (31st March 2017)

Left conference slightly earlier
for "exotic" dinner
and "heavy" opera

Day 5 (1st April 2017)

We didn't miss the train
the train simply did not operate on Sat morning
out for a short shopping after lunch
then end of the day
(not without another lovely family-style dinner)

Day 6 (2nd April 2017)

Last day of conference
Start of travelling!!!

First stop at Central Cafe
Then towards the nearby Easter Market
Hofburg Palace
End the day with an amazing concert at the amazing Golden Hall

Day 7 (3rd April 2017)

One day trip around Vienna city
St Stephen Cathedral
Naschmarkt

Later on with dinner
by the "seaside" Neusiedl am See

Day 8 (4th April 2017)

Bad start of the trip at Budapest, Hungary
with a fine of HUF8000 (EUR25)
for not validating the train ticket

Nevertheless
nice bus trip
nice cruise by the Danube
nice Spring Fair
and the truly exotic food

Day 9 (5th April 2017)

Free walking tour around Budapest
Great coverage of the city in 2hrs
St Stephen Basilica
Fisherman Bastion
Happily tipped Eur10

Short visit to the Central Market
Long walk towards the Hero Square
Luckily the dinner was fantastic

Day 10 (6th April 2017)

So D10 is my tiredness limit
But still, one more stop to Bratislava, Slovakia
Lovely small town
Lovely place

And back to Austria
Lovely dinner

Day 11 (7th April 2017)

Rain
So sad

Schonbrunn Palace
but rain

Hainburger Weg
found the cherry blossom
but rain

Designer Outlet Parndorf
rain stopped
got the mozart balls and manner too

Day 12 (8th April 2017)

It's the last day already?????

Morning farmer market at Bruck an der Leitha
Had home-coo fresh juicy asparagus for lunch
Out to the field on truck
Evening stroll to the Schloss Hof
Finally met and fed alpacas
and
the end

Day 13 (9th April 2017)

Morning flight VIE-HEL
9hrs layover
brief visit to the city
which is so empty on Sunday
