Step 1:
Login to MBC website. Refer to old tutorials here:

Step 2:
Go to http://www.imbc.com/broad/tv/ent/event/2014music/ticket/index.html
Step 3:
Scroll down till you see the application columns (see image below for detailed translation)
1) If you need to check or change your personal particulars, especially your mobile/cellphone number, click the purple button "회원정보 수정"
2) Select the venue & seating that you prefer (one out of three options, do note that different venue has different performing artists)
3) Click the white button "신청하기" to submit
Step 5:
Ta-da!! Application completed!!

Please note:
- Successful applicants are to bring along the text message sent to his/her cellphone as well as ID card for the exchange of tickets (Each successful text message can exchange 2 tickets)
- There will be no resending of text message if it is accidentally deleted. No entry if fail to show the text message
- Seating based on first come first serve basis (based on queue)
- Show will end in midnight so please arrange transportation accordingly
- Photography is strictly prohibited during show
- Only those above 15 years old (Korean age) are allowed to participate and enter the venue

hi! is it possible for a person with a foreigners living abroad account to apply for the mbc gayo tickets? or will they reject your application since you're a foreigner living abroad account? thank you for your help!

It's perfectly fine for a foreigner to apply for all the shows. But you need a Korean mobile/cellphone number in order to participate, especially for MBC shows.

Do you think it is ok for us to change the handphone number after application assuming I get a Korean handphone once I arrive?
Also, how does red carpets normally work? Where would they announce the timing and location or what are teh korean words I should be looking out for? Thanks!

I'm afraid that you cannot change your particulars after applying, in other words, you have to input the correct number during application. And I'm sorry, I don't know the details regarding red carpets, it's not mentioned on the website too :(
Hello, thank you so much for this tutorial! Just a note for anyone else making an account for the first time -- I believe the mobile authentication is mandatory, to prove your identity. I tried creating an account without going through it (because I didn't look closely enough) and my account remained under review indefinitely... it's been several days and it will probably remain that way forever, so I had to remake a new one using a different ID orz.
I saw somewhere else on the MBC website that Kyuhyun is participating, but I can't find his name anywhere on the page! Do you know what's up with that >< I want to apply, but I don't even know where to apply since his location isn't mentioned anywhere ._.
