20th June (Mon)

Incheon International Airport, said to be the BEST airport in the world!!!
Accessible from Seoul either bus airport limousine bus, or by express subway, at super economic price.

IBIS Hotel Myeongdong. Slightly expensive, but location and facilitise wise is worth the price.

Nice view over Myeongdong shopping area, as well as the Seoul Namsan Tower.

21st June (Tue)

Korea University. Try make a trip to one of the universities in Seoul and you'd be amazed by their buildings.
Yihwa Women University and Kyunghee University are recommended.

"Street Food" at Gwangjang Market, a traditional market in Seoul.
Trying out 순대국밥 (Sundae 血肠, on the right) and 해물전 (Seafood pancake, at the centre), with side-dishes.
Worldwide famous Nanta show at Myeongdong theatre. Get discount if book through IBIS hotel!!

Seoul Namsan Tower; get to the bottom of the tower by cable car.
Lots of locks and messages left by couples; featuring me mum ^^
Seoul Namsan Tower, the "landmark" visible nearly everywhere in Seoul.
We didn't go up to the top of the tower though
Chinese cuisine at bottom of Namsan Tower. Ex...

22nd June (Wed)

창덕궁 Changdeok Palace 昌德宫; personally think that it's prettier than Kyungbok Palace.
Remember to check the schedule and join the guided tour~

Secret Garden (후원 后院) in the Changduk Palace.
Again, check the schedule, the entire tour takes about 2 hours; guided tour is compulsory.

From Changduk Palace, 5mins walk to 북촌면옥 北村面屋 (Bukchon Noodles House)
Selling most of the Korean noodles and soups...
Mum had 떡만두국수 (Dduk+Dumpling Soup) while I had 갈비탕 (Beef Ribs Soup).

북촌한옥마을 Bukchon Hanok Village 北村韩屋村
A MUST-GO!!!!
Try look for the 8 photo spots around Bukchon Hanok Village, said to have the best scenery there.

Back to Myeongdong NOON Square and had Shabu-shabu. Ex...but the portions are reasonable..

23rd June (Thu)

남대문시장 Namdaemun Market 南大门市场
A better shopping place for middle-aged, compared to 동대문시장 Dongdaemum Market 东大门市场
자장면 Jajangmyeon 炸酱面!!!!
When the weather isn't on its good mood, it'd be a good time to go indoor and enjoy some Korean comedy show.
JUMP!!!!
(again, get discount from hotel!)

5~10mins walk from JUMP theatre to the traditional street - 인사동 Insadong 仁寺洞

Highly recommended restaurant in Insadong - 나 살던 고향 "Na Saldeon Kohyang" (literally means "my hometown")
All sorts of Korean cuisine; we had 순두부찌개 (Tofu Stew), 불고기 (Seasoned beef) and sidedishes <from right to left>

24th June (Fri)

Another must-try in Myeongdong - 명동갈국수 (Myeongdong Handmade Noodles, with meat soup)
Oh, there're a few "replica" shops with the same name; do find the correct shop, usually the one with the longest queue!!!
SME EverySing at Myeongdong, selling official merchandises of SME artists~

Myeongdong Dog Cafe ^^

And here comes the end of my Korea trip...
a pity that we failed to visit the Blue House and DMZ this time
that'd be a great experience i think
well...
i wonder
when will i have the chance to revisit Korea again~

Hi, may I know how much the entire exchange program cost you? And how difficult it would be living there if I have no knowledge of korean language at all? Thanks:D

Hi netnet,

I spent around SGD5k in one semester. However I mainly stayed within Seoul and didnt travel much, so my spending was considered quite low actually.

It's not difficult to live in Korea without knowing Korean language. However you might not be able to interact and play well with the locals if you can't understand Korean language. Most Koreans know English, but they can be quite shy to speak English and hence could be passive towards foreigners who can't speak Koreans.

Hope this clarifies ^^
